Hi Ell,

It depends on what you're trying to do, but I'd be surprised if someone could come up with a solid, realistic SEO strategy and deliver accurate keyword research, raise (and help fix) technical issues and help build the right links to help drive results on only £50/month.

I wouldn't recommend paying someone to become a certified SEO - it's not really how it works. If you wanted some verifiable proof that you knew what you were doing, the best thing would be to get some proof of results that you've delivered for clients or your own sites. Good luck.

I may be 9 months late but it is worth a try, whom would pass a chance of getting link juice from google...I just found Shark SEO through twitter and thought I would see wha gwan. I also didn't know there were companies that charge £50 per month and less in some instances for seo in house..Do you think that SEO services like this do more harm then good or is it fair game.. also I was looking at getting being a certified SEO professional but some companies charge around £250 as a minumum for the test what is your opinion on certification and if you are pro certification whom would you recommend

Cheers Malcolm, it's an interesting one. I can't see an immediate reason why the links wouldn't count, but then again it's possible that they've manually set it to not follow links that are clearly in their search results. If I was Google, that's probably what I'd do.

I remember reading some Googler saying they didn't count links from their own domain. Wonder if this was a blanket policy or based on robots.txt. Can't find the quote now, sorry.
